Kadaga Out: Salaam Musumba and others launch bid to oust the Speaker from parliament: Kadaga Out: Salaam Musumba and others launch bid to oust the Speaker from parliament: As the 2021 elections just around the corner, many people are still coming up to show their interest.
For Kamuli we always get women political heavy weights, even this time they are giving us the same expectations
We note that the speaker of parliament Hon Rebecca Kadaga comes from there. Then Hon Kasule Lumumba who is the general secretary for NRM is also coming from Kamuli. Then the FDC vice chairperson Salaam Musumba is also from the same district.
Kadaga Out: Salaam Musumba and others launch bid to oust the Speaker from parliament
Musumba a few months ago threatened to come and contest against the speaker. She says a number of things are not okay in Kamuli a district which has the speaker of parliament.
According to Musumba the poverty levels are high in Kamuli, the level of development still low. People are wondering how they are benefiting from the speaker being from their place.
Kadaga is the Kamuli district woman member of parliament and speaker of the parliament of Uganda.
Surprisingly, Salaam Musumba is a former ally of speaker Rebecca Kadaga but is criticizing her.
Musumba has picked expression of interest forms indicating interest to carry the FDC flag for Kamuli Woman MP Seat.
But Musumba has many options. First of all she can contest for the Kamuli Municipality position. Secondly she can go for the LC5 chairperson-ship because those positions are still available.
Lastly some people are fantasizing that if Musumba contests against the speaker, there could be a hand of Lumumba. Lumumba and Kadaga do not see eye to eye and there are power struggles for supremacy in the district.
Others who want the same position
Musumba is not the only person coming to contest against Kadaga. Other people are coming up and these include madam Deborah Mwesigwa.
Deborah is a former URA employ who is also vowing to oust the speaker. According to Deborah, Kadaga has been the area legislator since 1989, its time we also lead.
To Deborah the 30 years Kadaga has been there are enough. Let her give other vibrant people and we lead the district.
Mwesigwa Deborah says Kadaga has done nothing to help people in Kamuli get out of poverty. Yet for her she has an NGO there that deals with such problems.
