The secrets why Bobi Wine didn’t register People Power

Bobi Wine says, all along we knew we had to register People Power as a political party. But we understand the dynamics and the political games in Uganda, so we have to be careful.

The reason is when we tried to register, we found the People Power name was already reserved. On addition to that it was flagged, meaning we could not use it and this was a genuine reason.

Secondly, Bobi Says “we knew the regime would fail any attempt for people power registration”.

Thirdly, when we started people power movement, we needed time to analyse the political situation in the country

Fourthly we have been seeing how other parties struggle with this government, that is why we were calculative. So we maintained people power to bring people together as a movement regardless of their parties.

Lastly it was important for us to dodge Museveni and keep him guessing on which party we shall use.

In conclusion, Kyagulanyi says they are working to see how they can legally incorporate members from other parties. We all know that we have our friends from other parties who want to stand in our colours. We must finalize this as well and on time.

Surprisingly People Power has over 10,000 people who want to stand on their ticket.
