FDC’s Amuriat to run for President in forthcoming elections: FDC’s Amuriat to run for President in forthcoming elections:
Forum for Democratic Change FDC president Patrick Oboi Amuriat has shown interest in leading the country. Amuriat picks nomination forms to contest as the party’s presidential flag bearer.
However as 2021 general elections nears many political parties continue to set their strategies. Among the top political parties FDC was still lagging behind in this race.
It should be noted that FDC did not perform well in the youth elections. And this many analysts have attributed it to luck of preparations in the party. The big blow in the party is that Besigye has not shown any interest in carring the flag.
FDC’s Amuriat to run for President in forthcoming elections
Amuriat received the forms on Wednesday from the party headquarters in Najjanankumbi. Surprisingly, FDC youths need Besigye also to pick nomination forms. This clearly shows that Besigye is the light in the wind for FDC.
After picking forms at Najjanankumbi Patrick Oboi Amuriat had this to say.
First of all, I stand before you here not by mistake but by design. Dr Kizza Besigye has moulded and taught me a lot of things now confident enough.
Secondly, we have been in this struggle for some years so I know this journey. So let us come together to reach our destination.
Amuriat now joins Wasswa Birigwa, FDC’s national chairperson to express interest to run for presidency. Birigwa picked his nomination forms on Tuesday.
Recently, Besigye said that he would not take part in next year’s general elections. The four time flag bearer claims that he won in 2016 but Museveni will never accept. More so he clearly says that let other party members feel the smoke in the kitchen.
And its high time for him also support not being supported. But Besigye still is still in the struggle of change.
