Early results in Friday, September 4th primaries for the ruling National Resistance Movement party flag-bearers for MP seats. As it stands now results indicate massive ‘casualties’ for the big boys and girls including senior ministers.
Surprisingly in Bushenyi, early results indicate that General Duties Minister Mary Karooro Okurut was headed for an overwhelmingly defeat to newcomer Annet Katusiime Mugisha. Reports say Katusiime won in all sub-counties of the district, including Kyabugimbi, Kyeizooba, Bumbaire and Bitooma.

Similary in Sheema, Science Minister Dr. Elioda Tumwesigye also headed for defeat for the Sheema Municipality flag. Dr. Elioda is against former Commissioner for Customs at the Uganda Revenue Authority, moneybags Dickson Kateshumbwa.
In Koboko, Dr. Charles Ayume was ahead of Investments Minister Evelyn Anite, though the race was too close to call. With 36 of the 36 polling stations counted, Ayume led with 5 988 votes to Anite’s 4,917.
And, in Kazo, Molly Kamukama, the Economic Monitoring Minister and former Principal Private Secretary to President Museveni. According to sources is was also too trailing Jennifer Muheesi.
While in other parts of the country polls are on suspension due to violence and deaths. The last election on suspension is of Mawogola North in Ssembabule.
However, the race includes Ms Shartsi the daughter to the Minister and incumbent Mawogola North Sam Kutesa is vying for the NRM flag. And she is against Mr Godfrey Aine Kaguta, a younger brother to NRM party Chairman, President Museveni.
Since they are all big with big names behind them automatically this has to happen.
And in Kigulu South polls are on hold after the aspirant succumbed accident and died. Similary in Bukono constituency reports say that the Minister Persis Namuganza’s agent has been killed.
