President Museveni and NRM are obstructing our progress – Bobi Wine : President Museveni and NRM are obstructing our progress – Bobi Wine:
The pressure in the politics of Uganda, as the country has less than five months to vote.
Kyadondo East MP and Presidential aspirant Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine is accusing President Museveni for being behind his ongoing woes.
Weeks back the city Lawyer Male Mabirizi took Bobi wine to courts of law over his academic papers. Mabirizi says that Kyagulanyi’s age and academic documents are false.
And recently on this Thursday, Kibalama NUP founder came out claiming for his party from Kyagulanyi. Initially National Unity Reconciliation and Development Party NURP, now NUP has no leader.
Surprisingly, in a video Nkonge back turned to Bobi Wine asking for his party back. Nkonge claims that a lot was promised but nothing has been done. He adds, there was no formal or legal agreement made but just MoU.
However, on Friday 18th- Sept. 2020, the Civil Division of the high court in Kampala got the information! that Kyagulanyi is illegally leading NUP. According to Kibalama, since their was no formal delegates meeting on the hand over of the party, Bobi Wine’s leadership is illegal.
President Museveni and NRM are obstructing our progress – Bobi Wine:
Shockingly, at court on Friday, Kyagulanyi says all these are geared by someone. However, I remain strong and focused to achieve my goals, he says.
”Museveni is doing everything possible my name to miss on 2021 ballot paper. He is sponsoring lawyers to challenge my academic papers and my age. They have bought everyone near me including Full Figure, Bajjo, Basajjamivule”.
And now the latest is Kibalama but nothing will stop me from appearing on the 2021 ballot paper,” Kyagulanyi says.
In a video that made rounds on social media on Thursday, Kibalama said he made a number of mistakes in transferring the party to Bobi, including accepting certain promises without double thinking.
“Of course when someone turns up with an offer as good as $5m anybody would go with it. That is how we fell into the trap, it was a good promise and we were hoping so. But since we had not worked with this group we did not know them until we got closer and saw for ourselves,” Kibalama claimed.
However, speaking on Friday at court, Kyagulanyi says that Kibalama was on a hot pan to make the statements that are in media.
“I watched the video with disbelief. However, I know he was on a hot pan. The issue of promising him money is utter rubbish but all is meant to ensure our supporters cast doubt in us. We shall not bow down.”
Since coming to the political scene in 2017, Kyagulanyi has faced a number of hurdles most of which he insists are sponsored by the state to curtail his fast rising political career.
