MTV EMA Awards 2020: Sheebah first female artist in Uganda to be nominated

Uganda’s Sheebah nominated in the MTV Europe Music Award 2020. She went on her social media immediately after getting the exciting news and thanked God for this.

The Queen herself, Sheebah Karungi is in cloud 9 after being nominated in the MTV Europe Music Award(EMA). Queen Sheebah breaks all odds being the first female Ugandan artist to feature in this Award.

Surprisingly, Sheebah is nominated under the category of ‘Best African Act’. The Queen will be facing competition from other African giants; Burna Boy from Nigeria, Rema from Nigeria, Gaz Mawate from DRC and Jerusalema hit maker Master KG. It should be noted Burna Boy is the defending champion of last year’s Award.

The function of awarding the artists will take place in Johannesburg, South Africa on Nov. 8th. According to MTV Award officials, Trevor Noah is the host of this year’s show.

But as they always say history repeats it’s self, Sheebah is no stranger to success. She has done it in the past winning several Awards both locally and internationally. Just keep your eye widely open to see her making it again.

Surprisingly, upon receiving the news, the singer went to her social media platforms to share her happiness with her fans. “I am so happy to announce that I have been nominated for the MTV EMA Awards 2020. This means the world to me,” Sheebah posts.

However, She thanks MTV for giving her chance to be on such a big platform.

Among the African artistes that are likely to perform at this year’s show are; Yemi Alade, Alikiba, Casper Nyovest, Ycee, Babes Woduma among others.

However, in other categories, Lady Gaga leads the nominations with seven nods; followed by BTS and Justin Bieber who have five nominations each.
