The arrest of Bobi Wine in Luuka District immediately! saw the birth of Protests headlining in down town Kampala and in Nyendo town in Masaka. However, news coming through note that the National Unity Platform (NUP) presidential candidate; Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu alias Bobi Wine has been arrested in Luuka and taken to Nalufenya.
Meanwhile Kyagulanyi was arrested in Luuka district on Wednesday while addressing a campaign trail. And according to the police, is was against the Electoral Commission directive of having not more than 200 people. In a terrible situation he was then to Nalufenya in Jinja.
But People in downtown Kampala along Kisekka Market and in Nyendo, Masaka; and other parts of the country took it to the streets to demonstrate against the arrest. These are demanding an immediate release of Kyagulanyi.

Shockingly in Masaka, supporters blocked roads with burning tyres. Additionally, in Jinja cars are on fire along Kampala – Jinja high way.
In Kampala, most of the roads, arcades shopping malls and other places already have padlocks on. And the places in the city that are on fire are; Kisekka, Kireka, Nateete and other places in Kampala. However, police is on set firing teargas and bullets to disperse the growing crowds.
Following, the protests in Kampala people are losing their lives after the police shooting live bullets. This claims one woman’s life after shooting her on Kampala road. She was a food vendor delivering food in one of the buildings opposite Fido Dido.
The only one thing protestors want is to see the NUP presidential candidate free. Journalists covering protests in Kampala calling for Bobi Wine’s release have brutally been assault. Their recording equipment are under arrest by security forces— sparking national and international outcry.
